About The Awards
National Award Categories


The Awards in 2005 were run on a regional basis in the following categories, with the regional winner of each category going forward to a national category final:
  • Best Sales & Marketing online
  • Best Customer Care online
  • Best Integrated Business
  • Best use of Broadband
  • Best use of Teleworking
  • Best use of Mobile & Wireless Technology

Winners of each category, in each of the 12 awards regions  received a prestigious trophy,  free publicity, and a place in the national finals. Winners and runners up also receive certificates of commendation. Winners were announced at a regional presentation event.

The regional winners in each of the six categories then went forward to be judged at a national level. Winners in each category were awarded a trophy at the Awards Gala Dinner held in London on October 6th 2005.

Having been selected by the national judging panel, one of the six category winners was then announced as the national e-champion for 2005 and was be presented with a cash prize of £50,000

 

National ICT Innovators Awards


These awards recognised best practice in the development of  information and communication technologies (ICT)  by UK business and public sector communities.

They were designed to exemplify the true applied technology innovators in the marketplace. One technology and six market sectors that aligned with the overall national agenda were selected to be the subject of these new awards, they were;

  • Safe On-line Transactions 
  • Health
  • Transport
  • Education and Learning
  • Export
  • The Environment 
  • E-Government ( Public Sector )

Awards were presented to individuals and or project teams that  demonstrated clarity of thinking and development/deployment of an approach that had the capacity to change the ICT paradigm in the particular technology,market sector.

The National ICT Innovators Awards opened to all sizes of organisations from SME's to large enterprise and the public sector.

Category winners were presented with a prestigious trophy at the national awards gala dinner in London on October 6th 2005.

 

Key dates for the E-Commerce Awards 2005

7th March 2005
The Awards are officially announced by E-Commerce Minister Mike O'Brien MP. 

29th March 2005
The Awards open for entries.

29th July 2005
The Awards close for applications at 5.00pm.

5th - 23rd September 2005
Regional finals and awards ceremonies take place at various times during this period.

6th October 2005
