2001 Winners

12 Regional Winners plus new category: E-Business Start-up

There were twelve regional winners of the third UK online for business / InterForum E-Commerce Awards. From a wide variety of sectors, from a scuba shop to an online weather service (2 actually!). In addition, there was a new category for E-Business Start-up.

Overall Winner
Pryse Jones
The provision of conveyancing services to the public, allowing clients to obtain online quotations, provide instructions online and then follow the progress of their conveyancing 24 hours a day 7 days a week without having to telephone. The system can be easily understood by someone with no legal knowledge.
East Midlands
Weavers of Nottingham
Wine merchants specialising in fine wines, whiskies and unusual liqueurs from all over the world. The owners have complete in-house control of the site having the ability to add and remove products, and control where and when they appear without involving the developers.

Hockey Heaven
This business provides high quality hockey and sports equipment. The site has 'sticky content' to encourage customers to return to view current information such as UK and World hockey news.The site also has a penalty flick interactive game which allows the customer to win a prize.
Northern Ireland
Ireland Freight Services
A fully web-based logistics system, offering global visibility to vendors wishing to supply overseas customers with exacting levels of reliability in supporting production lines. A service that is adding value to both ends of the supply.
North East

Providing products and web services to the Scuba market, in two years ago the company has gone from a small dive centre with a brochure site and 250k turnover to a full ecommerce solution, with in excess of £1m online.
South West
West Country Violins
A husband and wife team who purchase and restore violins that are mostly of 18th, 19th and early 20th century French, German or English origin. They aim to sell where there are few, if any, sources of older European violins such as the United States, the Far East and South East Asia.
Wales
Graig Farm Organics
A producer group of organic farmers across Wales and the Borders, with around 150 members. They have the ability to tell the story behind each every item. The web site includes detailed background information about organic produce, as well as allowing customers to purchase online.
West Midlands
Rosemary's Health Foods
Retailers of health foods, wholefoods and supplements, including organic and gluten-free foods. They sell specialist foods for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free diets and others with a food intolerance and offer free delivery for Internet orders.
Yorkshire & The Humber
Furniture123
The UK's leading online furniture retailer offering over 4,000 items of traditional and contemporary furniture for the home and garden. They are a business-to-consumer retailer targeting furniture buyers who wish to enjoy the benefits of shopping for furniture online to gain wider choice, greater convenience and better value.
E-Business Start-up

PhotoBox is the first online service in the UK to enable you to store and share your digital photographs free via its website.
