This winner is an old company and far from glamorous. Indeed, its activities may even sound boring to many ears. It looks after the entire supply chain for engineering goods on behalf of other companies: sourcing, paperwork, procurement and payment. It has built up a fair bit of experience in the field: In fact, it has been providing these services since 1893! The judges were greatly impressed by the way an old company had re-invented itself by making a well-judged investment in e-business. It has been transformed from a traditional service business into a leading service provider to the automotive, pharmaceutical, chemical and manufacturing sectors and its sales are on track to grow six-fold over just three years.
